How far can ____ go? (Updated)
So I'm continuing to see how far I can make my money go at CVS.
Now the question needs to be "How far can I make $43.01 go at CVS?
My previous post showed how much I had already gotten for $24.03...now here is what I've added to that loot.
Trip 4: 4 Bottles of Children's Tylenol (Expiration dates in 2011) and 1 tube of Colgate Advanced toothpaste (Retail value - 35.06)
Paid: 10.20 and my 10 EBs
Got Back: 12 EBs
Trip 5: Dove Body Wash, 2 Dove Conditioners, 1 Dove Shampoo, and Revlon Nailpolish (Retail Value - 28.29)
Paid: 8.78 and my 12 EBs
Got Back: 13 EBs
I'm pleased with these purchases - and they are all things that my family WILL use. (If we somehow avoid needing that much tylenol in the next two years - we will share with someone else.)

How far can ___ go??
I'm back in the CVS game.
Here is my question for you: How far can I make $24.03 go at CVS?
The answer: That is yet to be determined...but here is how far I have stretched it so far...
Day 1: Glade Candle
Paid: 4.48
Got Back: 6.99 Extra Bucks (EBs)
Day 2: Almay Mascara, Dawn Dishsoap, Gillette Fusion Razor, Crest Scope Toothpaste (didn't mean to buy this, but Mackenna threw it in the toilet before I could return it), 2 Scope Mouthwashes, Listerine Mouthwash, Cover Girl Foundation, Cover Girl Bronzer Blush, Clean and Clear Trial Size
Paid: 18.15 and my 6.99 EBs
Got Back: 17 EBs
Day 3: Tide Free Laundry Detergent, Dawn Dishsoap, 18 Rolls of Bounty Paper Towels
Paid: 1.40 and my 17 EBs
Got Back: 10 EBs
So, so far I have gotten all of the following for only $24.03 -- and I still have 10 dollars to keep it going!

Unbelievable CVS trip
I had insane luck today at CVS. I'm still somewhat speechless about it...
Here is what I got:
2 Kellogg's Rice Krispies 1.88 each
1 Crest Pro White Toothpaste 2.99
2 Men's Speed Stick Pro Deodorant 3.99 each
2 Sunglass Cases 2.99 each
1 8 x 10 Photo Free
1 Schick Quatro Titanium Razor 7.99
My total at this point was 28.70
I first used a $4 off $20 CVS Coupon
Then I used 2 $1 off Kellogg's Cereal Coupons, a $0.50 off Crest Toothpaste Coupon, and a $4 off Razor Coupon
I then used 14 dollars of Extra Care Bucks from Previous Transactions
My remaining total (may look weird because of tax) was $4.69 which I paid and then got 21 dollars back in Extra Care Bucks...
CVS basically PAID ME $2.31 to take all this stuff out of the store for them!!

Good Day at CVS
Well, it was a HOT day to walk to CVS - but that is 1.) besides the point and 2.) something that will be true for the next four months. We are back from vacation, getting healthier, recovering from the shock of seeing one twin play with the other twin's poop, and ready to cash in on some deals.
I went into CVS today with only $2 in Extra Care Bucks to spend. I found (for the first time) the little scanner thing in the middle of the store that allows you to scan your card and it prints out coupons. I scanned my card and it gave me a $10 off $30 coupon and a $4 off $20 coupon. The $10/$30 coupon changed my gameplan a bit for my first transaction, but it really helped me!
1st Transaction
- 4 Big Bags of M & M's ($12 with $2 off in coupons - I'll be saving these for the M&M theme birthday party that we have coming up!!!)
- 2 Big Bags of Sour Patch Kids ($5 - just a treat for my wonderful husband)
- 4 Bottles of Dove Shampoo/Conditioner ($16 with $3 off in coupons)
- 2 Dove Deodorants ($5 with $1.50 off in coupons)
- Used $10/$30 coupon
- Used $2 in ECB
OOP Expense - $21.32
(Cost before coupons, sales, and Extra Bucks = $49.48....$28.16 or 57% savings)
- Received 10 and 5 ECB's for future transaction, and another $4/$20 coupon
2nd Transaction
- Gillette Fusion Razor ($7.99 with $4 off in coupons)
- 2 Bottles of Banana Boat Sunscreen ($21.48 with $3 off in coupons)
- 2 Bottles of Dawn Dish Soap ($2.00 with $0.50 off in coupons)
- Used $4/$20 coupon
- Used $5 in ECB
- Used $10 in ECB
OOP Expense - $5.85
(Cost before coupons, sales, and extra bucks - $35.95...$30.10 or 84% savings)
- Received 7, 4, and 1 ECB's for future transactions
Not a bad day, in my opinion. I had a fun outing with the kids, got some exercise, filled that time period between lunch and naptime, and purchased everything above for basically the same out of pocket expense as two bottles of sunscreen and a bottle of shampoo if it hadn't of been on sale. And I left with $12 of ECB's to spend next time :)
